philosophy
Comprehensive design at its best can be quite a sensual experience – calling attention to sight, sound and touch. A thorough and sensitive investigation of interior and exterior environment(s) often leads to this stirring occurrence.
It is my philosophy that a thoughtful design must begin with sincere inspiration. Perhaps through collecting artifacts from your immediate surroundings and being engaged in a sites’ context (both interior or exterior) begins to tell a unique and specific story. You must be aware of the existing physical limitations & ”rules” of the site. However and whatever materials are collected, they must undergo the rigorous process of evaluating and filtering: what works, what does not, what is appropriate, what is not – all within the ever present boundaries of design.
Regardless of how it ends, if a design is to be good, it must first have an inspired beginning.
